Languages in ACL
Wath Comprehensive School Language College
After a successful first year, Wath will be offering more “FIRST STEP” languages learning courses. The languages offered are:-
- Dutch
- French
- Italian
- Portuguese
- Russian
- Spanish
- Swedish
- Turkish
The courses last for 10 weeks with learners working at their own pace and assessing their own progress.
They are also offering the more traditional 30 week courses in:-
- French
- German
- Spanish
- Portuguese
- Italian
These are taught courses by linguists and lead to an ABC qualification at ‘Beginners’ or ‘Continuation’ level. All courses are subject to there being sufficient demand for the particular language.
Enrolment day is September 14th 2006 with courses starting a week later

Thomas Rotherham College
Situated near the centre of Rotherham, TRC has language courses in:-
- French
- German
- Greek
- Italian
- Spanish
The courses last for 30 weeks, are accredited by ABC and the levels available range from ‘Entry’ level to ‘Advanced’
New for this coming academic year are conversation courses in German and Italian lasting for 10 weeks.
Enrolment takes place on 12th and 14th September 2006 and classes start week commencing September 18th.
