The Adult Community Learning partnership in Rotherham exists to:
|
Promote and advocate for Adult Learning in the borough |
|
Engage new and potential learners in the Adult learning agenda |
|
Promote and provide ‘First Step’ learning opportunities in locally accessible venues |
|
Encourage and support learners to progress to further learning opportunities |
All providers of learning for Adults are invited to become members of the Rotherham Adult Learning Partnership, either by direct membership or by representation through membership of one of other organizational members such as The Rotherham Learning Network or Voluntary Action Rotherham
A mix of statutory, voluntary and community organizations in a wide range of venues provide adult Community Learning opportunities for Rotherham learners across the borough.
These organizations include the 5 major providers of adult learning in the borough and a large number of community and voluntary organisations
First Step Learning opportunities are short courses designed to engage the interest of adults who are not currently engaged in learning. Through these activities learning providers promote Life long learning and provide information on and progression to other learning courses or activities.
In addition to this there are a number of externally funded projects working across the borough to deliver additional services and opportunities to adult learners
The Rotherham Learning Network initiative provides information and support for locally based community organizations to become involved in promoting and delivering first step learning.
